There is a comp handle on ICC called wiiconsole.
From its playing style (heavy kingsafety and pawn advancement), it
reminds me of TSCP. However, it plays better than TSCP.
The only program I could find for WII is by Mere Mortals Ltd.
The program has demostrated some considerable experience
in the programming. I am talking about experience in computer
chess from the perspective of practical subtleties that people of
little experience wouldn't code or think of. Maybe, Tom Kerrigan
loaned something to them (Stobor)?
Does anybody have more info?

Re: anybody know about chess program for wiiconsole
I have not heard anything of late, but a year or so ago I had conversations with a game company in the UK that was interested in putting chess on several different game consoles, both large sytems like the Wii/Xbox/Playstation and also on portable devices. I knew a couple of the people and helped them put some things together for testing. Whether that is what you are talking about or not is unknown however. But it could have a bit of "old craftyisms" in it which would mean null-move, and such...CRoberson wrote:There is a comp handle on ICC called wiiconsole.

Hi Bob,
The company is in the UK and they have a suite of programs that they
sale on one cd for Playstation and WII. My son actually has the suite for
Playstation.
The subtleties I mentioned were things like: instant move when only
one reply, obvious move quick reply and some others.
Also, I was suprised at ICC support, but I suppose somebody could
be doing that manually. I don't think so due to how it performed late
in the games with little time.
I suppose this could be them.

The main selling point seems to be that you can compete against other players via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Online. Seems it was only released in Europe.
