Oh the memories!

Too bad there is no continuation for Aristarch.. was really a special engine at the time.

Thanks anyway for the game Graham.

Hi Graham,

indeed I have a folder on my hard disk named "Aristarch 5.0" :-) I'm still at the very beginning. Originally I tried to improve my old source code, but Aristarch 5.0 will be a complete rewrite. Reason is that I don't think the code of Aristarch 4 can be improved so far that it can compete with today's strongest engines. So I was thinking about new concepts in chess programming - maybe my current idea is really good.

At the moment Aristarch 5.0 is not my main focus. I am developing a new chess GUI for several years now, named "Sirius". It has a couple of features other GUIs miss. I hope to publish it in the first half of 2008.

I wish you merry Christmas :-)

Kind regards,
Stefan
