Recently SSDF has tested Anthony Cozzies Zap!Chess Zanzibar A1200. After
662 tournament games it has a rating of 2830. Compared to the earlier
program Zap!Chess, the Zanzibar version has a SSDF rating which is
101 points higher!

Frans Morschs and Mathias Feists Fritz 10 Athlon 1200 MHz has gained
a rating of 2856, which is 53 points more than Fritz 9 has.

Several of the older programs have somewhat lower ratings in the latest
SSDF rating list. Among them Rybka 2.31 has suffered the largest loss,
with 27 points less than in April, but still it clearly holds the first
place of the list.

The URL of the SSDF home page is now http://ssdf.bosjo.net .

SSDFs next hardware level will be Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 2,4 GHz with 2 GB of
RAM-memory and 64-bit operating system.

Each engine using 4 processors, ponder on, 40/120, nice.

Very very nice - by far the best out there. And it's a true time control on that hardware as well. I really like ponder on - to me ponder off is unnatural.

I like ponder on as well, too bad I dont have a dual or a quad. Yes, there time control should be almost 50-100% better than CEGT depending on the position.

that is great about the hardware upgrade. How do you folks plan to ensure continuity between the new quad 4 list, and the list you have developed over the years? Can you combine the games, or will you folks be starting a whole new list?

Some programs will benefit more than other with this updated hardware, but just to show 50 rating points higher than with the current Athlon 1200 Mhz

Europe Echec´s- No. 361- Janvier 1989

A propors d´órdinateurs-Pierre Nolot

At that time the best dedicated machines could cost around U$3.000,00, and
could cost around U$10.000,00 in the launch.

Well, altougth I always look at SSDF list, I was disinterested by the list of
SSDF, but now I think they have made a big step.
Congratulations to the SSDF, which has a respectable history.
