I guess that they have done their statistical homework and are playing moves that Rybka fares well with.

Since Rybka is making occasional strange moves, I suspect that a bug may have been introduced which was not found in testing. That is a pretty classical problem at tournaments (author makes some change which ought to improve things, but fails to exhaustively test the change).

e4 is very drawish for computers for some reason. I think d4 might be better because it has less forced lines. Rybka team basically needs to get a position where out of book the position is roughly equal. Rybka usually tends to outplay anything in even positions. But in this match Rybka has been playing terrible endgames ... suicidal in one case. Today it missed an easy elementary win. Still it will be a must win situation tomorrow and let us see what Rybka team have in store.

I suggest C4 or Nf3, that would be better.
