Attacking chess from 2002, Dragon - ChessWizard

Post by Robert Flesher »

I think it's really a shame that Frederic Louget did not release Chess Wizard. Even back in 2002 it was playing really fine attacking chess. I'd really like to know more about this engine.

Yes, interesting demonstration of the King's Indian defense and how it breaks out.

Hello Robert,

at this time I am working on my older winboard pages and have much contacts to French programmers. I try a bit to get one ot the ChessWizard version for testing. But never I got a version!

ChessWizard and Ferret are the most know and strong not available engines. Possible that in the year 2000 Chess Wizard was the number one. In a GM tourney the first chess program with a performance from more as 2.600 ELO. Also after analyzing Massy games I was sure that the playing strength must be enorm.

Arthur & ChessWizard are on my wish list so many years. Arthur is a amateur engine from The Netherlands. Programmer is Walter Raveneck. Just a great engine!

Best

I wonder If Fredrick is still involved in computer chess?
