Ravager 1.0 Chess Engine

Post by eren4710 »

Hello everyone,
I would like to introduce my chess engine:

Engine: Ravager 1.0
Author: Abhinav
Country: India
Type: Classical HCE (no NNUE, no endgame tablebases, no opening books)
UCI Compatible: Yes

I would love if people try it out, let me know if there's any issue.

Download:
https://github.com/erensh27/Ravager

Contains both builds for windows and Linux and the source code.

Also I wanted to submit this engine for CCRL rankings, if anyone here knows how to do so pls tell in the thread, am new to this.

The engine is tuned for aggresive play instead of normal engine like play, it'll be fun playing against it :p

Roughly how strong is it?
Is it an AI assisted engine?
Have you given credit where it's due?

I benchmarked it against Stockfish levels, they are a bit unreliable but it was around 2000 elo range.
yeah AI assistance was used to develop parts of the engine.
The whole source code is mine without usage of any books or nnue so there's no credit to give tbh.

Is it accepted for CCRL?? When will the next batch of testing take place?

I'll make Gabor aware of your engine. He does the blitz testing.
I'll hold off on 40/15 testing until your engine reachers 2550+.

So you invented "hand-crafted evaluation (HCE), magic/PEXT-based sliding attacks, and a tapered midgame/endgame evaluation" all by yourself?

Yeah, the engine follows an aggresive playing style rather than normal engines with many additions adding to the aggresiveness
