Fritz 20 is released. Engine is a normal uci-engine and runs fine outside the crappy FirtzGUI...

A commercial release, of course, by ChessBase, buy here (today 25% off) :

Hello folks. I just saw this release recently.

I'm curious about the GM profiles. Can they be used in engine matches ?

Fischer v Karpov etc

Also is it plausible more profiles will come later with updates ?

This is just a disappointment: The playing-styles/profiles can only be used in the "Easy Game"-Mode of the GUI. Nowhere else.
The Fritz 20 engine itself is UCI, but has no parameters, changing the playing-style. Only "normal" uci-commands exist: Hash, Threads, Contempt, MultiPV and Syzygy. Thats it.

Hi
Is there at least a clock mode. I bought Fritz 19, partly due to the personalities and was surprised that they played their moves virtually instantaneously. Which is not realistic. I contacted chessbase. Even Fritz 12 had parameters that could be changed in 'Handicap and fun' mode. and the choice of instant or clock mode. I notice fritz 20 now mentions a clock mode?
As far as personalities and parameters are concerned we have options such as Rodent etc. Not sure whether Fritz has made progress over the years , at least based upon Fritz 12 to 19. I noticed Fritz 20 is a lot cheaper than 19. Fritz 19 had 6 months premium access to playchess / account not sure if fritz 20 has that?

As source code release, Zeta Dva v0402:

Interesting point might be the vectorized Kogge-Stone move generator via GCC vector extensions.

In "Easy Game" playing mode you have the option "Training with clock" as an icon and can set Blitz Clock thus as in normal mode.

Fritz 20 comes along with 2 months premium membership, regards
Peter.
