The forum's poor responsiveness has made me very selective about which threads I open, so it's going down on my gratitude list! :)

He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away!

Should it go on like this? A few hours fast, then a few days slow. Can nothing be done about it?

Right now it is just
Who is online
Users browsing this forum: Bo Persson and 69 guests
and still slow. You would expect a webserver to be able to handle 70 users.

The Board Index has 3395 guests so.. It works better with Cloudflare (says Srdja) but was not needed I think for some time? I'm not sure where the server resides but in the past they just waited for the moderator/administrator to go on holiday or weekend. Before the larger present FG I mean. Nothing to be done right now I think if that''s the case.
Debugging is twice as hard as writing the code in the first
place. Therefore, if you write the code as cleverly as possible, you
are, by definition, not smart enough to debug it.

Firefox says 3288 guests. But shouldn't server handle this number easily? Not? Some forums have 10000 - 100000 REAL users simultaneously.

These are not static web pages being served from server cache: the pages are constructed from data stored in a MySQL database. Big databases that can handle large numbers of simultaneous queries and updates tend to have lots of RAM and a kickass CPU.

One would need to analyze the web-server logs to figure what is going on. If DOS, DDOS, crawler/scraper, valid user requests.

There are several web-server modules and Linux server configurations which can be tuned more aggressively, but I would prefer to not discuss certain TC security measurements in the public.

I myself have no time in spare to engage atm in TC server operations and solve this case.
