Speaking for myself, not even as a mod, at the moment I don't see any good candidate to do the mod job. With your (above) attitude it would mean the banning of members who don't have broken the charter. The charter is written at the foundation of the forum back in 1997 by Chris Whittington. As a mod you first have to find a majority vote to change the charter before you can (using your words) I will cleanse all bullshit posting like sf troll one that has literal 0 reasons to be alive
when do we get moderator elections ?

Yet I argue just like everyone else and I do not appreciate an armchair lawyer wannabe weak editing/deleting my posts or trying to silence me for calling out a hypocrite. I will agree to a certain degree of goverence enforced by moderators, but that must be voted upon, as per your "charter", so far that is not happening and there is no acceptable excuse.

You should start talking about moderation only after you ban yourself for calling someone a clown.Rebel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:27 amSpeaking for myself, not even as a mod, at the moment I don't see any good candidate to do the mod job. Then you should be banned for more than 10 times looking at your historyViz wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 10:45 amYou should start talking about moderation only after you ban yourself for calling someone a clown.Rebel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:27 amSpeaking for myself, not even as a mod, at the moment I don't see any good candidate to do the mod job. Re: when do we get moderator elections ?
The LazySMP topic is not closed because the OP did not violate any rules that the moderators are supposed to uphold. Vile personal attacks, apparently based on speculative identification of the OP as someone the more uncivilized members have some beef with were charter violations, and were consequently deleted. The thread was about testing of an engine, so discussions about the identity of the poster are off topic, and were split off and sometimes moved not to pollute the discussion.Viz wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 10:24 pm Well what can I say.
The fact that lazySMP "engine" topic isn't closed and he isn't banned is more or less a good proof that current mod team is completely incompetent to do their work.
Aka they send me big red warnings for saying that some person post will make any reasonably smart person to facepalm because it's some sort of bad offence that is not tolerated and at the same day they call someone a clown but not closing his topic because they want to show some moral high-ground to "discord folks" or idk, maybe there is some other reason.
Definitely not following the rules they made themselves.
I can happily nominate myself to be a mod, at least I will cleanse all bullshit posting like sf troll one that has literal 0 reasons to be alive.
Ed and Chris have more or less usurped the position of moderator, and sacked the once elected Harvey. Which, being founding members, is within their technical abilities to do. Since I am rather busy at the moment, and moderation was never a one-person job anyway, they sometimes act when I was not in a position to beat them at it (or saw no reason to do so). I would not vote for them; I think Ed lets trickle too much of his personal attitude towards members affect his moderation decisions. (Calling someone a clown is below the mark for a moderator.) Chris is the kind of judge that only knows the death penalty if he does not acquit you. Not much moderate, there.
If you like this forum to be run in fascist version, where anyone can be banned just for reasons of personal whim, vote for Viz.

Fear mongering all you want, while I'm not sure about fascism or which of the other two is the lesser evil, I'm quite certain that I do not want you.

The current moderators are not moderators. They are overseers of anarchy-tyranny. The high and mighty HGM will modify, slice up, or entirely delete your posts, while actively allowing trolls and reprobates to terrorize these forums with their garbage posts. If our glorious leaders would delete their logins and check into their overdue retirement homes, we would be slightly better off than we are now.
Of course, I don't give a fuck, and don't bother to post or read here any longer despite being one of the most prolific chess engine people currently breathing. This forum is a decade dead and exists solely as a hilarious spectacle and safe haven for degenerates.
When you censor this criticism, HGM, please leave this last paragraph which does not contain any insults. Thanks.

Re: when do we get moderator elections ?
Why would it have to be censored? Critisism is not a charter violation. Especially not during moderator elections.
If you would like me, I would not be doing my job. Your last posting makes it abundantly clear you are one of the worst members of the lynching mob, who wants to transform this forum to a narrow-minded image of what you think computer chess should be like. Which would of course mean banning anyone who has different interests, labeling them a troll, after a thorough roast.
In fact you are so narrow-minded that you cannot even see that your beef is really with the charter, and project your dissatisfaction on the people that were chosen to uphold it.
Good riddens!

If you are not a mod, why not remove yourself from the mod list and stop acting like one?Rebel wrote: ↑Sat Oct 19, 2024 9:27 amSpeaking for myself, not even as a mod, at the moment I don't see any good candidate to do the mod job.
