Surely only official releases should be posted in this thread?

Hello Graham,

1.
thread title = engine releases
thread title is not = official releases

2.
thread title = & news
That is for me a news to an engine!

I think it is very nice if programmers make from time to time a pre-release version available for us.
Nobady await that each of the dev, pre, RC1, RC2 and so one, Fixed, bugfixes tested by people working on a rating list.

Same for faster compiles Jim created!

Best
Frank

It would be wonderful if more people add news to releases, pre-releases and so one in this thread.
In the last years, many updates from engines were never mentioned in such threads in TalkChess!
Often I found information in your tourneys or strange sites, people collected all the engines in ZIP files or on the own site. With a bit more organization and helps by others such a thread can be wonderful and people must not jump to such strange sites. Or fora with a password protection and completly idiotic things were people are seraching for engine news. That's my personal opinion.

Have a look here:

A wonderful information for engine lovers:
https://tests.montychess.org/tests

Please have a look under pre-releases, not under official releases!
Monty is just great, I have a lot of fun since a while with that engine on my notebook.

Great engine news for engine lovers, sure you have the same opinion!
And of course such information should be available!

A new Monty Pre is available since yesterday!

We can also create a thread for:
Pre, dev, RC1 / RC2, bugfixes, alpha, beta, special versions or in your case for private available versions you tested.

In all the years since winboard and the first sites to engines (I believe I created this site) I never make a different between all of this. People are happy about any new engine, not important what it is, the main thing is that the engine plays chess. The best things would be, without mistakes and stronger as Stockfish.

:-)

https://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines.htm ... well-assorted after release date of engines
https://www.amateurschach.de/main/_engines-a.htm ... well-assorted in alphabetic order

An idea from members of CSS-Forum!

You can jump between this site if you like (in front of the page is the link)
