Kh1 isn't awful.
I t was considered ungentlemanly not to take the sacrifice back in those days.

Why? Because it was like picking holes in a brilliant idea?
But was it unheard of in those days that a brilliant idea MIGHT be flawed at times? Is there nothing more to chess than mental masturbation?
