Of course they must test against the other clones. Why test against R3? Is not R 4 a clone of R3?

well no, it is meant to be an improvement on r3, not a clone.

and yet they make use of them themselves for testing. talk about double standards.

AFAIK Vas only tests Rybka against Rybka.

As to the beta testers, they tested against whatever they chose. In the latter case, it made sense to test against the engines that gave Rybka 3 the hardest time, especially at fast TCs.

As to forbidding, none of the mods were testers btw.
