The avx2 compile of your engine is buggy... The engine instantly resigns the game already after 1 move, with message engine caused an exception..
I am using Fritz 18 GUI on my machine. My hardware is AMD 3990X 64 cores
Damir - it will be an issue associated with the Fritz GUI.

Runs okay here under ChessGUI.

I have tried in Infinity Chess GUI as well.. Also there the engine does not make any moves at all... Nobody is using cutechess GUI for online playing against other opponents. Cutechess is only used for offline testing.

Maybe engine is working fine under cutechess, but it is not working in Fritz 18 GUI and InfinityChess GUI as well.

Graham I think you should try and play with the engine in Fritz GUI and see if there is any problems?

I believe you, Damir. :)
I used to have problems running some engines in the Fritz GUI, which is one of the reasons I switched to ChessGUI.

Under Arena 3.5.1 GUI the engine (avx2 version) runs perfectly in 82 games !

Protej 0.6.3

http://protej.info

Various code optimizations. More assembler functions to improve speed. Material imbalance values tuned. Internal Iterative Deepening added. LMR table revised and tuned. MoveOverhead default is now 0. Debug: if testsuite had no fails, Protej crashed.
Expected gain +70.
