Hi all,

Thank you for your kind reply and suggestions.

I've installed Pawel's unofficial release of Rodent IV with NNUE capabilities. I don't encounter "restarting lagging threads" but it seems to have problem (?) too. While it is thinking, say reached ply depth 24, then the next ply depth showed in Arena reverts to a lower ply depth, ply depth 22... I'm using Rodent with a personality.

Best wishes,

"Restarting lagging threads" is not a bug, just an information that one of the threads searches lower depth than the others and is restarted so that it will be more useful.

I have tried to look at the other bugs, but it seems that I lost he ability to read Rodent's code and dodn't find any explanation of what's happening.

Going with Rodent NNUE is the safest option, some good soul even provided a release package: https://github.com/texium/Rodent-IV-NNU ... /tag/SFNet

He could just use one thread if he is concerned about that message, there is not a huge benefit from 1 to 2.

Dear all,

Thank you for all your kind replies.

I have tried all the recommendations. I did not face similar issues with other engines; I guess I have to accept the peculiarity (restarting lagging threads, jump to a lower ply in the midst of thinking) of Rodent engine.

Best wishes,
