ELO strength can be set for those engines that support it. I used to be very active compiling and providing engines for Android, but I stepped out of that business a bit. So other than the GUI and BikJump, I have to refer to other authors for more engines....

Also any way to import one of the lco/maia engines to play against.u.
Thanks! When importing the UCI engine for the first time, you get a pop-up dialog that allows you to change all parameters, even the ones set by a supporting application that ships the engine. Next time around, those same settings are re-used. To change, first clear the options of that engine (some find this cumbersome, so I am working on better ways for that!).
Thank you again for the information. I guess you can't use maia in the app.

You can use Maia.
Download "Chess Engines Collection" by Acid Ape Studios from the Play Store. It was added with its last update.

I've created an installation package for most of the chess engines i compiled so far.

If I may make a suggestion for engines. Have two new options - change engine and edit engine options. If you change the engine the app automatically shows the options for the new engine so you can change them if you want to. Edit engine options just lets you change the options for the current engine.

Ah, sorry for missing that part of the question, and thanks to others for answering. Yes, maia (or any UCI/XBoard engine for that matter) is supported, provided it is compiled for the Android device and, for the more recent versions of the Android OS, provided as a package in OEX to Chess for Android.

Noted, and something like that is in the making!

Great!

One other question if I may. Say I use a weakened stockfish using skill level or UCI_Elo or another weakened engine like Maia. Does the time control have any effect if I do this. Say I set the time to level 1 will the weakened engine play the same if I set the time to say level 4 or even level 10 or does the level affect the weakened engine and maybe make it stronger as it thinks more.

Thank you.

If the installation package for all available chess engines from my repository is too big now, please let me know. I can exclude some engines like Minic and Seer and offering single installation packages instead. I tested all chess engines in DroidFish, they should work properly. They also should work in Chess for Android.

All in all we have 96 chess engines for arm64-v8a, 87 for armeabi-v7a, 86 for x86 and 92 for x86_64 based devices. Most of the chess engines from my repository are included now.
