There's a new version of my own engine Rhetoric. I think it is playing with a decent and enjoyable level. My tests suggests that can be close to the psychological barrier of 2500 elo, but I'll have to wait to see a realistic elo in the current elo lists, because I have a limited set of opponents.

In general, I want to thank to those users who gave me advice in this forum.
Special thanks to Brian Richardson.

Thanks a lot.
:D

Alberto, I would like to run either a 100 game match at 40/3 repeating or a 50 game match at 40/20 repeating (benchmarked to that as CCRL and CEGT do.) But I would like for you to pick the time control from the 2 I have listed here- and it is important to me that YOU pick the engine and the particular version of that engine you would like to see Rhetoric 1.0 play. That way- I know it is a control you prefer and an engine version you would really be interested in the results from against Rhetoric 1.0. You can let me know with a thread here or PM me. Either is fine, if you are interested. Again, you must pick the control from these 2 and the engine version.

Look forward to hearing from you-

With all that fora thing many things goes astray or are lost.
It is HERE where old hands see what is going on.
Do not listen to him.

Graham actually suggested to move it here. Alberto originally posted it in the technical forum and I moved it by OP's request. Now some of the posts look funny after the move.

I think it's Fern who's in the wrong cubicle.

Thanks Silvian
Good to know that Rhetoric can win nice games!, but I expect to lose the match against octochess. If it wins more games, it would be a really unexpected result. Rhetoric is a modest engine, at the moment.

About hash: As any UCI engine, hash is configurable by the setoption command. By default Rhetoric sets the hash to 128MB, but internally, it tries to set a number of hash entries in a power of two method.

So at the end it is not exactly the same, the memory that your try to set, and the real memory that is using.

25% versus Octochess r4692 ! Not - yet - a 2500 ELO. Several long tests are desirable.

Hello george.
I don't have any preference on neither the engine nor the time control. I haven't run any test at these time controls. I always use cutechess at 10+0.2.
Choose for me. I hope you won't get disappointed with the performance

Oooh...
"Mi gozo en un pozo", as we say in spain. Don't know if there is a good translation for this.
What elo has Octochess r4692?

What elo has Octochess r4692?

Around 2450-2500 ELO CEGT (r4690 x64 1 CPU has 2532 /40/20).

I've removed the link on my web page for the zipped file with Arena and Rhetoric pre-configured.
I'm currently asking for permission to put this download.
I apologize.

Then Rhetoric must score about 2320 elo CEGT, which must be close to 2450 - 2500 in the CCRL list. This is what i expect.
Elo is so relative.
