My apologies. I was likely one of the first to load it. I'm just not used to thanking the authors on the forum. I of course appreciate you and your program. The world doesn't revolve around Houdini, Komodo, Strelka, etc.

Congratulations Mincho for your new version of Pawny. It's made some good progress, and now supports Gaviota TB, which is a nice feature. I remember the good old days when the first version my engine (had no name back then, eventually becamse DoubleCheck and now DiscoCheck) was barely "finished", in the sense that it could play a few hundreds of games without crashing and interface correctly with cutechess-cli.

At the time, I was using weak engines to test it (like Beowulf 2.4 or GNU Chess 5.07, even Sungorus was too strong!). At first, I Pawny was untouchable, and I considered it a big achievement to reach the level of Pawny 0.3 after months of hard work. So don't worry, there are always people who care. It seems to be floating around 2500 ELO in CEGT, which is a great performance compared to the previous version :D
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

Thank you guys! My goal is to keep it as simple as possible and squeeze my code, I have always progress that way while testing extensively every single change I make. That delays the progress elo-wise, but it gives me a good sense what works and how many elo it gains in my framework.

Always hold your head up and be proud- you have so much to be proud of. And I apologize for not acknowledging that earlier. You have a wonderful program.

I am looking forward to more tests results.

I am hung up right now Gabor- and cannot test it at the moment. I believe you have my address. I would certainly appreciate any results you can send me after you think you have enough games to give a definitive answer. If it is over 100 elo, or close to 150............. Christ

All the best,
