Which room is the "learn how to levitate" in ???

I always wanted to learn how to do that . I am quite sure that it looks much more impressive in a static photo than in dynamic life. :D

That Room would be the "Cafe" playing room
where along with casual games ..players have been known to take the occasional "toke" or two
:P

It's a shame, because the interface is really good.

It would be great if they would allow engines other than Chessbase engines in the Main playing hall - there's no point in running my engine in the engine room vs Rybka / Stockfish all the time.

So I use the ICC. Friendly, helpful, and lots of opponents of similar strength for my engine.

I've sent repeated emails to Chessbase over the years, and never had a reply.

Hi Richard,

You are right I have only seen Shredder, Fritz and Hiarcs in the Main room basically each, CB, author gets one account capable of doing this. Personally I think it might be a nice idea to allow other authors access. I have set up a central place where all these ideas can be discussed and any good ones I will bring to the attention of CB. http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=17

Happy New Year,

I think that would be a fantastic idea. I am sure if ONLY the engine author can have ONE authorized player to use his engine then this would be very interesting indeed. I am sure there are a few GM's who would like to see what it would feel like to go against a Rybka Cluster 72cores or even a Hiarcs or DF 12 on Nehalem 8 cores at 5 0. As a sadist I have to admit I would enjoy watching something like that . :D To be fair I would think the games should be unrated where maybe even Kasparov might have a go at it. Certainly a win by a human against one of these machines would have more bragging rights than having more mistresses than Tiger Woods!

Hiarcs plays there often - in 2 years no losses(except due to internet problems) a couple of draws last draw was 300 games ago - played many GMs in these games - so it is not a lot of fun and you don't need a Cluster. I usually set the Hiarcs book on Surprise - works a lot better than playing the mainlines.

A good idea would be to have a bonus increment for the human ... maybe 10 seconds a move. Do you have those games played against human GM's. I know that Kasparov has beaten Hiarcs a few times, but that must have been more than 2 years ago.

All good points - No games that I know of against K but some v Raffael who some allege is K but they were long before Hiarcs was playing on any kind of fast machine and before I had control of the nick.

Here is 1 example going back to 2008 when http://hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1629 2 draws out of 20 games v a 3100 player. in 2009 I think Hiarcs had a 100% record but I would have to check.

The only issues I ever had there were related to misunderstandings. Otherwise it was a fine place with a lot of nice people and a few annoying ones. Almost like in real life :D

Hi Harvey,

Thanks for the reply... I'll do that.

Playchess is still very good... especially for normal chess. A couple of tweaks would make it good for computer chess!
