Sorry to say that, but I think that you are using a stupid generic opening book for Bright, right?
Try using Bright's default opening book and see what comes out of this match....
I was thinking of your statement for a while of naming a particular opening book as stupid. It seems pretty obvious to me that measuring book performance based on game outcomes is nearly useless. Therefore, Harry's books are almost unparalleled in their ability to arrive at decent positions.
PS: Furthermore, I just finished testing bright _0.2c with its default opening book versus Movei 0_8_438 P10 with Harry's Mainbook and the outcome did NOT indicated that Bright gained much by using your book
The second match outcome was 22 to 18 in favor of Bright -0.2c, but i am almost certain that if I run 10 more matches of 40 games each using the same opening book, the outcome will vary favoring one and then the other engine.
If you run several sets of the match, you will get different results definitely, but let me make 2 things quite clear:
First of all,I didn't mention which generic opening book, you did....
Second and more important, the outcome of every game depends not only on the opening book, but which type of endgame will be reached,if the opening line is brilliant and the engine plays stupidly in the endgame,,you can figure out yourself the value of running a 20 game match....
Don't forget that the default opening book of Bright was approved by the author of the chess engine and was tested with big success in many tournaments whiere the default opening book is used....
Finaly, you didn't use Bright on an MP machine, did you
