Chess Tiger has a better chance for the 2nd Place than Pro Deo, since Prodeo 1.6b still has to play versus mighty Colossus 2007d and Chiron 0.87

Not sure about it.

Tiger also needs to play against strong opponents like
Bright 0.2b amd Aristarch 4.50

Bright is probably the strongest player in the division and it was simply unlucky.
Bright still has chances to get the first place.

I think that among the top 6-10 we do not know for sure which is strongest on Leo's hardware with his tablebase files, etc.

I guess that Bright may really be the 4th strongest on Leo's hardware and that Movei may really be the strongest. When viewed as a simple Elo base and not a tournament, we see this outcome:

Code: Select all

Program Elo + - Games Score Av.Op. Draws

173 Movei 0.08.438 P10 2660 29 29 350 46.6% 2684 36.6%
At any rate, I think it is not fully clear that Bright is stronger though it seems on some hardware it may be and also with multiple CPUs it will be stronger.

Dann, dont forget the fact that Leo's tournaments are ponder on. So a better comparison would be to compare movei and Bright at blitz and long time control from the same testing group and see how much Movei gains from slower time control.

CCRL 40/4
Bright-0.2b 2787 +28 −28 49.8% −0.8 30.5% 443
21 Movei 00.8.438(10 10 10) 2730 +17 −17 49.6% +3.0 32.1% 1242

Difference 57 points.
When it comes to 40/40 movei manages to reduce the lead by another 20 points. I guess under Leo's conditions they are almost equal and Bright did not have one of the best tournaments.

I was lucky to predict that Movei will end up on first 1st, and for more than a month Movei kept on the top of this 1st Division. Movei was lucky to continue for so long being on top but the race from the very beginning was very closed. Still it is NOT clear who will end up on first, but chances are that Movei 00_8_438 will end up on first. Chess Tiger 2007-1 has been all over, for a few weeks it was on fourth place than on third and now it is standing on 2nd place.

PS: Congratulation Uri, for achieving such a high rating on such a short time

bright - Chess Tiger 3-1! This is going to be very exciting! BTW are 5 best playing already in next Premier Division?

PS. It's stunning how well pre-historic Aristarch is playing

As I stated before, when playing with it's default opening book,Bright performs much better than with generic opening book....

Only the number one is guaranteed a spot in premier. Places 2-5 have to play against the last five engines from Premier, and out of those 9 engines, 4 top scorers promotes to Premier and the rest goes down to 1st division.
