Mephisto exclusive power supply plug

Post by Bobbersadventures »

I have a Mephisto Polgar exclusive chess computer that I have had since the early 1990's. I have used it a few times then boxed it up and stored it. About one month ago I took it out of storage and unboxed it, plugged it in and it worked!. At the end of a couple of games I noticed that the power cord was cracked and wires were exposed! My question is, where can I find a replacement power cord? I need a 5v 600 MA cord. It was the original cord made in Germany. I hope someone can help with this delema?

Just took a look at some websites about the chess computer and found out that it seems to take a HGN 5001 power adapter. I'm not sure if the connector has the right dimensions in the link though...
The page I found this was: http://www.chesscomputeruk.com/html/mep ... 0_mhz.html

If you know how to solder and de-isolate wires, I would just suggest that you do it yourself, and just get a little shorter wire though.

I hope this will be of help :)
