This is the first copyright infringement: http://chesscomputeruk.com/html/scisys_ ... years.htmlCMCanavessi wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 10:56 pm Is this the 1st time a chess-software-licence lawsuit is filled? If not, what are some previous instances?
I don't know much about Raubfish, Bluefish or Corchess, they may or may not be problems, I simply don't know enough to comment.supersharp77 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 4:16 amhttps://stockfishchess.org/blog/2021/ou ... chessbase/KLc wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 9:35 pm In case you didn’t notice: https://stockfishchess.org/blog/2021/ou ... chessbase/

Well Fellow Citizens An Earthquake of A Development.....Didn't See This One Coming...War Declared!! I will tell you this I am sure the The Stockfish Team is quite Annoyed with All The Fat 2 Compiles (And Believe Me There are quite a few Knockoffs of Fat F2 with "updates" coming every few days!) I think the 46mb Larger F2.bin I've been seeing around is from Chessbase? Quiet Debates are raging over This one or that one.. Plus Cfish..Raubfisch..Bluefish...Honey and Corchess are still out there also...It's Interesting and Confusing at the same time...We do need Chessbase and Also Stockfish for Obvious reasons... Hopefully some sort of Amicable Resolution Can come from this unfortunate situation..
Is this possible? You can sue someone to comply with the terms of the license. But since a FOSS license offers the software to anyone who complies, curing any violations should enable continued distribution, if I'm not mistaken. GPL v. 3 says "All rights granted under this License are granted for the term of copyright on the Program, and are irrevocable provided the stated conditions are met."leading developers of Stockfish have terminated their GPL license with ChessBase permanently
There is a 30 day clause to rectify any issues if I recall reading correctly.Harvey Williamson wrote: ↑Wed Jul 21, 2021 11:20 amPerhaps this is the key phrase. It can be revoked if conditions are not met.
