Sadly, I think the moderators are going to be busy, as there are many opposing points of view, with posters sometimes getting a bit carried away.

Being a moderator is a good way to lose computer chess 'friends' without even trying.
Just look at the good members who've pulled the pin on Talkchess already.

Being a moderator under these circumstances is losing its appeal.

It is on hold for as long as a large fraction of the members cannot reliably access the board. Especially when I am amongst those users. I only have a few minutes of access a day, the rest of the time I get the 403 error.

I'm withdrawing from being a moderator candidate.

I think we can solve that issue. Instead of having only 3 moderators for all forums, we may have 5 men for each (sub) forum, say, 5 men for only “General topics”, other 5 men for “Programming…”. Thus they don’t need to read much and at a time there may be more than a moderator to read and rule. A moderator may be hard in one forum but could be a normal friend in other ones. They don’t need to pay high prices for doing their duties.

So when is this moderator election actually going to take place?

Well, I don't know. I thought the 'Forbidden' problem would have been solved, but I still saw recent complaints about this. So apparently it is not. It is for me, though, so I had no reason to pursue it further. Perhaps someone should make an effort to figure out what the current status is, and if that is conducive to having elections.

(from France)
After some months of Forbidden, for the last weeks I usually can access the Forum, but often after some minutes I then get the Forbidden...

I've had no problems from the UK for about 2 weeks now, so it seems to be solved for that country.

Can we now do new moderator elections or is the team in charge thinking that the topic fades away ?!
