I am really excited abut this Galaxy Note 3 Neo:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_ ... s-7538.php
Apparently, it has a true hexacore Exynos. I am wondering if it is coming to the US and whether it will be a 64 bit chip. Can't wait to see it benchmarked.

Re: What about LG google nexus 5 ?
ok. but better than 6 cores are 8 cores. why not 64 bit 8 exynos cores ??

I'm assuming that heat is the reason. Probably when we get a die shrink to 16 nm or so we will start to see quite a few octacores. Can't wait. Apple is supposed to get a die shrink to I believe 20 nm this year.mclane wrote:ok. but better than 6 cores are 8 cores. why not 64 bit 8 exynos cores ??

So Apple Ipad Air (2 64bit cores 1.4 GHz) 1.218.000 nps nr 1!

No benchmarks of MT6592 Octa Core mobiles yet ?
Nobody testing 8 cores for chess yet ?
There are many cheap china mobiles with the 8core CPU on the market in the moment. We need a benchmark guys to see how much the CPU helps for chess.
The prices say the mobiles are sold for ~ 200$.
Also, there will be the Sony Xperia z1 compact soon.
We need a benchmark value for it too.
The next is the huawei honor 3 outdoor.
And do we have a benchmark for the moto x ?

I have a benchmark for an octa core mobile
With the cheap Mediathek CPU.
It says amazing 1100 k NPS.

This is Really Amazing. It means that almost any new octa core mobile from china with prices from 150 euro to 200 euro is as fast for chess as an iPhone is.
And we can imagine that the new samsung, lg or whatever company octacore cps is even faster then the mediathek.

Don't agree, 1100 kns created with 2 cores are (much) better for chess than 1100 kns from 8 cores.mclane wrote:This is Really Amazing. It means that almost any new octa core mobile from china with prices from 150 euro to 200 euro is as fast for chess as an iPhone is.

you will see how fast THIS pushes the development. companies like samsung, LG, ... are FORCED to bring out 8 cores with more power.Max wrote:Don't agree, 1100 kns created with 2 cores are (much) better for chess than 1100 kns from 8 cores.mclane wrote:This is Really Amazing. They cannot say anymore, we wait.
This is because the cheap mediathek has 8 cores and is on the ipad 5s level.
If ANY cheap mobile in china (150 EURO or 180 $) has these benchmarks,
its clear that the others have to be better because they sell more expensive. Of course the cpu in the ipad air/iphone 5s is a killer.
it has only 2 cores and low speed, but due to the BIG cache and the 64bit it is fast as hell.
Nobody uses these big caches. I wonder why apple cpu uses it.
I can only guess. at least our chess app can differenciate this hardware-
difference very good.
