Citrine goes wireless.....

Post by MikeB »

..well maybe ...

I just ordered this Bluetooth SERIAL adapter...will post results after testing ..

Brainbox

if it works , it will turn any Citrine into a wireless monster while running your favorite engine under Arena on your PC while you make your moves on the deck or even poolside and not be tethered to your PC ..perhaps.. -- also one added bonus of the Citrine is that has 4 LEDS for every square - so voice move announcement is not necessary...

best,

Michael

YES ¡ it´s a fantastic product

in spain we can buy it here:

Link Rs-232 bluetooth to buy in Spain

the only question is that exist two models:

Bluetooth RS232 Adaptor DTE (Male 9pin D for Device End) BL-819
Bluetooth RS232 Adaptor DCE (Female 9pin D for PC End) BL-830

and I don´t know who is the correct for use to CITRINE or DGT boards ??¡¡ with a PC serial port... I think we need a adapter bluetooth to pc, but that accesory are cheap...

I think that is a GREAT product ¡¡¡... imagine powefull board CITRINE running without cables, to a engine PC. or save our game versus a friend...

or save DGT board game... directly.. (moves see on clock...XL too)

somebody can test that ¡?

bye, since Spain. Oliver

Usually - the pc has the female adapters -- and you plug in the male - so the Citirne has male 9 pin plug - so you must get the female adapter. In electronics , as in life , the male-male or female-female do not connect very well, but the male-female connections work great ;>) (naturally, like everything else. your mileage may vary)

Slight delay -- they forgot to send the gender changer which is required to configure the male serial bluetooth unit on a PC.

I know it sounds kinda of freaky but it wasn't me that decided to assign electrical style connectors after human body parts denoting male/female gender types

Let's see how google does on translating " they forgot to send the gender changer which is required to configure the male serial bluetooth unit on a PC " to Spainish and then back to English.

to Spainish (Google)

se olvidaron de enviar el cambiador del género que se requiere para configurar la unidad serial masculina del bluetooth en una PC

back to English (Google)

they forgot to send the changer of the sort that is required to form the masculine serial unit of bluetooth in a PC

interesting ....
