It's free andworks very well - Fritz 9 benches at near 90%. Good to have if you are running xp64 and want to keep some "older programs". If you install the virtual machine additions, you have seemless cut and paste between the Virtual PC and the PC. The shared netwrk options also allows full internet access.

They did a nice job - I especially like the seemless copy/cut and base - ideal for two cores or higher - no need for a dual boot anymore....

Re: Virtual PC 2007
As far as I know it is only free (working) till July 2007.
Is this changed?
Otherwise its the old dealer trick, first make you addict then cash the money.

Re: Virtual PC 2007
No,
Virtual PC will remain free.
I think that the 'july 2007' date you have in mind is linked to a previous beta : most of time, beta versions are time bombed to invite the users to install release versions when they are available.
Best regards,
Alain

Re: Virtual PC 2007
So far I have all the Chess Genius's (DOS), Fritz 3 and CM 2100 chess programs installed and running.
Wchess and Hiarcs 3 refused to install due to lack of tokens ( old copy proctection scheme) .
