I don't think Carlsen will ever be discredited as possibly the greatest player in history so far, even if or when he DOES go down.
But btw, he just now made a bad start in a tournament, after taking a break from chess tournaments for a few weeks.
It certainly doesn't mean he's starting to go down yet! But just the thought of it. If and when. He has already made his invincible impression in history which won't get lost.

I think you underestimate human capabilities, it's possible by year 5000 Carlsen isn't even in the top 10 chess players of history.
Your beliefs create your reality, so be careful what you wish for.

I have no doubt! I said "so far".
By year 2100 he may well not be in top ten of history, even if he is now (which i dont know for sure).
