Re: Seer 2.0.0

I've released a new version (v2.3.0) of Seer here: https://github.com/connormcmonigle/seer-nnue/releases/tag/v2.3.0 It should be significantly stronger than the previous release (v2.2.0) and tested at >= 100 elo in self play. As with all previous versions >= v2.0.0 Seer is trained on unique data ge...

Re: Introducing Igel chess engine

Hello Alex, PS: I like very much Igel and I hope that you will compile every new update also for Windows 11 ARM64 :D ARM64 is getting more and more traction these days both on Windows and macOS, so yes, I am definitely going to support this architecture now and in the future. Do you have plans to s...

Re: ceres

Huh? did I say you were wrong in the estimate? I said the diff between current Leela and SF in TCEC rating is about 20 points anyways, so +20 for Ceres means something at this level.... I think TCEC games is a horrible way to rate the engine's strength, specially the SUFI engines. The sample is too...

New "FRC Top 20" tournament

I have started a new FRC tournament with the current top 20 engines (or at least, the ones I have access to). It will be ultra-long (38.000 games with 30 minutes + 5 seconds TC) so it's more like a continuous ranking because it will probably never reach the end. As new engine versions are released (...

Re: Banksia GUI released

Hello mister phhnguyen This project is getting better and better. Maybe something for the todo list. Analyze on the website of TCEC-Chess additional engines analyze the running game live. Could this be set up under Banksia too ? Since I also test weaker engines, that would be a great feature . Best...

Re: TCEC21 is over

I don't think its the variant that matters here. If you use a book, then you have some influence on the result... If we are only interested in finding the strongest engine, then matches should be bookless, if we want to also enjoy the games then it is debatable If you play from the start position y...

The openings were chosen randomly. It's natural that a tournament appears biased towards the better player.
They weren´t random at all.
What would you consider "random"?
Picking from a book?

Re: Latest UCI spec?

It seems bizarre that nobody has updated it in 15 years?!?! :? That's also an upside of UCI - it's stable and doesn't get "improved", becoming ever more convoluted until you have basically no support in the wild for most of the features so that from a user POV, every engine becomes a snowflake - an...
