Re: Komodo Dragon vs IM Andras Toth knight odds match.

Chess engine authors are way too arrogant when they claim that their program is better than Kasparov or better than Magnus Carlsen because it's obviously just a marketing lie. Kasparov is still at least 200 elo stronger than Komodo dragon 2. Even Komodo Dragon 5 still doesn't stand a chance against ...

Re: To: IA from: Pablo Ignacio Restrepo (Father and Grand-Father playchess.com) November 30 TH 2020.

Contrary to what some may say I think that humans are still much better than computers. When it comes to chess knowledge and really understanding the game (understanding the whole picture) and seeing and memorizing far ahead into the game humans are still much better than computers. It could take hu...

Re: When will the chess programmers write an engine that plans ?

I believe that even the top chess engines are still much much weaker than the best human chess players. Our software has some serious limits, otherwise where do all of the improvements and upgrades come from? Humans understand chess strategy much better than even the best chess engines available and...

Re: Tests with kiudee settings and SV-384x30-T60-2900net

Those people wouldn't get good at chess even if they were rich and bought the fastest hardware that they could, they just imagine that if they bought it magic would happen, but there's things money can't buy, and being very good at chess is one of them. You're just being irrational. Of course a lot...

But you don't need any of that to become very good at chess.
Wrong. Some people really need it.

Re: Tests with kiudee settings and SV-384x30-T60-2900net

Like I said before chess is for very rich people. Because who else can afford to buy these super-expensive graphics cards and super-expensive computer motherboards if not very rich people? Only rich people can become very good at chess because only rich people can afford to buy all these super-expen...

Re: Engine's "ELO" revisited

In my opinion Chess is for rich people only because only rich people can afford to buy such massively powerful computers. I'm still using a 4 quad core computer because I simply can't afford to buy a faster computer. I'm also living in poverty in general and I may also become homeless sometime in th...

Re: Engine evaluation consistency/stability

In my opinion it will take at least another 2000 years until a computer will be playing at FIDE world champion level.

Re: "Fat fritz" stronger than Stockfish ?

The way I see it neural network chess engines is only for rich people. Also the installation of neural network engines is difficult and the way I see it the technology is only in the beginning stage. In 50 years from now the technology could change completely and could become much more user friendly...

Re: Engine evaluation consistency/stability

In TCEC SF has many games (white and black) with 0,00 evaluation entire game :!: Some games are over 100 moves. Chess is soon solved? I believe that chess is still very far away from being solved. Even in the year 4020 (we are now in the year 2020) chess would still not be completely solved. You se...
