Re: Chess.com app.

I find the chess app of chess.com a very strong engine vs human, and at 25 levels on instant, it gets very tricky at the higher levels. SF might be a little stronger, but chess.com is enough too. I have won every level at least once, from 1-17. But from 18-25, i think i will need to sit down and ta...

Re: Chess.com free engine for android, is.....

I remember till not that long ago, when the famous professor, programmer of crafty (name?), was practically worshipping deeper blue. That would have been Robert ("Bob") Hyatt. Chess.com have 6 apps on the play store - link . I'm guessing that the one you're using is "Champion Chess"? Andrew Grant w...

Re: Chess.com free engine for android, is.....

Personally, i feel it is impossible for me to ever beat or avoid loss. I was, perhaps 2300+ when i was passionate at chess, and i still have the same appreciation of the game, and what kind of moves can be made. I'm actually improving my experience with this device, though my concentration level and...

Re: Chess.com free engine for android, is.....

In continuation, yes, i know that one or two smartphone engines might be a little stronger. But this free engine is also way above any human world champion at bullet/timings. I even think that deeper blue at tournament settings, would not stand a chance against this, on instant setting. And you carr...

This chess playing, which plays instantly from my android, samsung s9, at level 25, is, imho a perfect chess playing level. You could never expect better chess from any GM or WC in any generation. If u go to any simultaneous exhibition of any world champion, ever, and you have 5 minutes per move and...

Yes, Ne2 draws with best play. Nd5 ought to lose. But I guess because Tal did it, it scared the ever-loving piss out of his opponent and he blundered.
Gave his opponent too much work to do

If it indeed draws vs best play, and it was from an even position, then Nd5 is indeed a great move.
Indeed, it clears lines for both bishops, facing the king, which is quite a wonderful thing.
Ah! You mean that Ne2 draws. Not Nd5 knight sac.
