Yea but there is just too much misinformation out there. B46e is near the top of the Ivanhoes in strength in 32bit. B46f was a bugfix for B46e. B46fb was a bugfix for B46f. Then as if not enough, B46fc was a bugfix for B46fb. And all the bugs were in the robbobases anyway. They are actually giving 152gbs of hard drive space to the things. Lunacy. Plus the fact, somehow in all this mess strength was lost. I never could get any of the B46fs to play as strong as B46e- and since I don't use robbobases you can guess where B46f went, along with all his brothers and cousins.

Yea, but where you made a mistake was not just sticking with PPs compiles, and not fool with KLOs or all the offshoots that Bim Gump makes one setting change and changes the name. Then you would be looking, just counting the really good ones, at maybe 12 to 15 versions. Just a thought.
I have tested Ivanhoe B46fC x64 on 2'+1" with 5-man TripleBases.
It is practically on par with Critter 1.4
I've narrowed things down to 14 versions of IvanHoe and the best one is still IvanHoe-B PP-0.1 x64 after playing more than 100 games at long time controls in a huge RR touranment running since a year and a half....

I see nothing wrong with that, as long as you are giving Critter the gaviota bases or whatever it uses. Me, the best any engines get is 3 and 4 man Nalimov- which most good engines can simulate with no bases. If they couldn't, you would not see a lot of good engines call #24 or #34 with 8 or 9 pieces on the board and no bases. So I don't see just 3 and 4 man as an advantage for any engine whose opponent is halfway decent. And they wouldn't get them if they were not already set up in a folder when once I saw use in something useless.

Of course, in my games, Critter gets the 5-man gaviota bases, Houdini gets the 5-man Nalimov, etc...
But I'm quite ready to believe that endgame bases don't lead to very different outcome of games.
