It has been explained that Houdini started as RobboLito. Thats a fact. You don't need to read the code if you have the same nodecounts.

Just wanted to let you know. If you want to buy it, it is your decission. But you can also use Stockfish / Critter / Komodo and spend the money to UNICEF :)

Houdini wrote:Peter, I really hope the moderators of this forum will do you the favor of removing your posts in this thread, as they portray your character in a very unfavorable way.
On top of your rather disgraceful use of language, your interventions demonstrate that you haven't got a clue about Houdini.
Disgraceful use of language? You must be seeing something I don't.

And yes, it's MY character being called into question. I'm the one that cloned a program, added a feature or two, and as you put it "LOL" laughing all the way to the bank with the money from users here.

Are you actually going to deny that you used the Ippo family as Houdini's code base? Are you going to imply that the code in Houdini is original and you only took "ideas" from several programs? You wrote it from scratch?

Come on.. I need a good laugh while cooking my Turkey this weekend.

Yes, Chris is the best clone buster I know :)

FACT.
Houdini wrote: It was a logical step to combine the best GUI (Aquarium) with the strongest engine (Houdini), Houdini Aquarium is the result.
Best gui is debatable. Strongest engine is factual.
Houdini wrote: The package includes Houdini 2.0b, this is an update to Houdini 2 containing some minor bug fixes and Nalimov EGTB support. This update will also be made available to all current Houdini 2 users, e-mails will be sent in the following week.
Engine included - fact.
Type of EGTB supported - fact
Availability of update to current users - fact
Modality of delivery - fact
Houdini wrote: Houdini Aquarium is available at a (in my opinion) very attractive price, I know of no no other hobby in which you can obtain the world's best for so little money.
Opinion but this was stated clearly. I happen to agree with the little money part more in connection with computerchess of which Houdini and Aquarium are tiny parts.

I really do not see the reason for the heat generated in this thread.

I have seen announcements for commercial products here on several occasions. The responses seem to be about Houdini and its origins and the ethics of its author rather than the statements in the announcement.

A new thread should be started for that purpose in my opinion.

Later.

Alex, you shouldn't have posted that.

Robert doesn't like being presented with facts when he has a supporter in the thread. He likes that certain people think he is the second coming of Christ.

Now he'll leave the thread and won't respond because factual proof as been displayed. All his hand waving in front of smoke filled mirrors has been nullified.

And Robert persists on denying any relationship to RobbLito :D

Congratulations! As far as I can see you are officially in the main stream and it's time for closing the book on the entire robo controversy. Those that don't want to move on can move out of the way.

Peter,
And your rambling goes on and on and on...
You really seem to have an obsession for Houdini, maybe you should get some professional help.
