Re: New chess game anyone.
15.g4 looks okay to me. The only nasties lie in sacs on the e4 square, but we seem to have those well covered.

It is hard to plan ahead when playing vs.a computer.Spacious_Mind wrote:Hi Sam,BubbaTough wrote:wait...I haven't been using a computer because I thought it was off limits. As I said I am just sharing what intrigued me yesterday.... and it is definately risky, complicated and very unclear. I am sure there are better moves then the immediate f4.

Yes, they are off limits, or I assume they are. Trust me when I say I play thousands of manual input games per year with my compies... therefore you get to have a feel to what they might do.
As I mentioned but perhaps not clearly enough, I spend hours last night on A CHESSBOARD, because the g4 move looked interesting to me followed with f4. That position arose after I realized that Bd8 might be a serious option for the computer to play because of the possible to potential threats of g5 and I wanted to see where the pawn sacrifce would end up as a position. If you consider Bd8 an option and you want to see what f4 does then these moves are all automatic.
All this is still pie in the sky if Black does not play bxc4 next move

Nick
I sure don't like giving up a pawn to a computer
without something really positive in return.
Giving a pawn away to a computer is not like playing
a human.
Best,
Gerold.

Re: New chess game anyone.
I fully agree with you Gerold. All I have done is show a position that I enjoyed playing last night. I am not asking you to take this position seriously for our game. I have not said that I recommend it, I am sharing it because it looks interesting and is so darn complicated, I would be extremely surprised if we actually voted to follow this pathgerold wrote:It is hard to plan ahead when playing vs.a computer.Spacious_Mind wrote:Hi Sam,BubbaTough wrote:Spacious_Mind wrote: Black doesnt there are other options but I suspect the g4 move will make Black consider King safety... which makes Bd8 a possible prefered choice for a computer but definately not the only choice. 16.bxc4 is obvious, so I vote for it although 16.Nxh6+?! gxh6 17.Qxh6 looks tempting. But I think it loses after 17...d5! 18.Nf5 Bxf5 19.gxf5 Qd6 since Black will give back a minor piece on h2 while exchanging queens and finally win through the strong center.
