Two days ago I had Bc8 as best, right now it's Be6. Is this for real or am I being led astray? Since these variations appeared in my radar as a possible game continuation, I've based my decisions on playing Bc8 here, so Be6 needs to really prove itself to make me switch (other than higher score, which it already achieved.)
So apparently after Bc8 white has 22.Qd2! but after Be6 22.Ba3 is best. The thing is that with more depth Qd2 looks worse than 22.Ba3 (so it may be transposing if white plays 22.Ba3 anyway, making Bc8/Be6 equal.) My question is if I play Bc8 tempting white to play Qd2 with the hopes that black plays it and I'm better than in the 22.Ba3 line. But now I have to make sure 22.Qd2 isn't actually better, so I could just play Be6 and save the trouble because I already know how good 22.Ba3 is (for black).
That's my dilemma (which doesn't matter if mmt intends to play 22.Ba3 regardless.) I guess it doesn't make sense because if 22.Ba3 is a draw I can't win this game whatever I move, but if 22.Ba3 loses then my move must be 21...Bc8, because 22.Qd2 could draw, so I shouldn't allow it. But if Ba3 draws and Qd2 loses then Bc8 hoping that mmt blunders with Qd2 is my only chance to win.
21...Be6 is the game theoretical move and yet I'm here analyzing and wondering what I'll move. I just hope 22.Ba3 loses and 22.Qd2 loses even faster...
