If we use ponder on we have some more depth and 2-fold less games.
I want to play 1000 games within a month, not two.

Pondering mode is doesn't matter in your case, when you use engines for infinite analysis mode AFAIK. It is not the same as engine vs. engine playing mode, when pondering is simply using the opponent's move time to consider likely opponent moves.
