Just out of curiosity: are you really saying that pages and pages of diagrams and instructions is what is meant by "easier to join and watch?

You should have talked to me and we could have done it in Playchess. Any guest can view a broadcast, and you do not need to create an account. ICC is the one with restrictions. FWIW, the offer is on the table this very minute.

Does Playchess have a Linux client? If not, then that's a no go.

I thought it would be obvios that using PlayChess would be inferior in almost every respect:
* Less capable client for viewing
* Which is more complex to operate
* Which does not come with an elaborate tutorial like the one posted here
* Guest viewers more restricted in what they are allowed to do
* Participants resticted to a single commercial client
* Of which the support for WB engines sucks
* Which might not support the format of their opening book
* Hassle to obtain accounts, which normally are non-free
* Work-arounds needed on Linux

In fact that is where playchess shines I think. For viewing games, I'd much rather do it on playchess.
