Do you know of any reliable dealers in the US that carry the DGT board? The product used to be on Our Sponsor's web site, but I'm not able to find any listing in the current pages.

the Chess Cafe is a very reliable dealer and affiliated with the USCF
they also have a great site dealing with chess in general
i have purchased many chess books from them over the years as i collect chess books as well
never bought any chess computers from them though
i cant say if their price is the best you can find.. but i do recommend them for reliability

The price is higher than I thought it was: US$749 + US$59 shipping = US$808 and that's a little steep. Maybe if it came with a robot arm...

That's definitely an improvement and is more in line with numbers I'd seen earlier.

I can't say that I care much about the rank digits and file letters appearing on the board margin. This doesn't seem to be a feature that most would want in a high class board.

I should mention that I already have TWO wooden boards with reed switch technology but no piece recognition. The first is an old ARB that froze on power up the last time I tried it almost seven years ago. The other is a Saitek Leonardo that has a serial interface that Ive successfully connected to my old program Spector. I haven't tried that in years either, but it worked the last time it was turned on. Maybe I should get it out of storage for some experimentation. If I can get it to work, I don't see much reason to buy a Citrine unless there's some big difference that I've missed.

take a look at the program module inserted on the side of the computer.it is probably the Sargon 2.5 module programmed by the Spracklens who later went to work for Fidelity

if it is the 3.0,3.5 or 4.0 then your module is quite are and valuable ..even without the board

do you have an add-on module in your Leonardo or just the basic program built into the computer?

Not sure, as I haven't looked in years; I do know there's a slot. I recall at the time of purchase (from ICD, I think), there was also a checker (droughts) program available at extra cost. I'll check out the ARB tomorrow along with trying to get the Saitek running. There might be some problems locating the adapters and pieces.
