GAME 79
In a Semi-Slav, Houdini chooses to lock up the queenside, forcing both sides to look for something on the kingside. Houdini eyes up the weak pawn on d5, while Komodo takes aim at the opposing king. Taking the d5 pawn proves to be a bit like accepting a Greek gift (trojan horse), as Komodo firstly exchanges queens, the coordinates its pieces better to steadily build a decisive advantage. Komodo plays the endgame instructively, and once the final pair of rooks come off, it's all over. Komodo now leads by +5 =73 -1 and it's match point!

Game 80 - Houdini kingside mischief harmless
GAME 80
Houdini gives up a pawn on the queenside to create mischief within the position around Komodo's king. After several exchanges, it becomes apparent that the openness of the position is threatening enough to see Lomodo exchange queens and give the pawn back. The resulting endgame is drawn. Komodo leads by +5 =74 -1.

Game 81 - tricky QGD line quickly defused.
GAME 81
What looks to be a tricky line in the QGD is quickly defused once the queens come off early on. The eventual rook, knight and pawns ending is quite interesting, with Houdini giving up a pawn, but seemingly always having a draw in hand. Komodo leads by +5 =75 -1.

Game 82 - follows a similar path and eventually drawn.
GAME 82
The return game with this line follows a similar path and an early endgame arises. After the final pair of rooks come off to leave a knight and pawns ending, Houdini is happy to give up a pawn to force a repetition. Komodo leads by +5 =76 -1.

Game 83 - Komodo equalises without problem - another draw.
GAME 83
In a Reti line, Houdini advances in the centre, but Komodo gains easy equality. As the pieces come off in reasonably short order, a rook and pawns ending arises, which is clearly drawn. Komodo leads by +5 =77 -1.

Game 84 - game develops differently, but still drawn.
GAME 84
This game plays out differently in the opening, but again the queens come off early. Komodo takes control of the d-file, Houdini grabs the e-file, and neither side can create an edge. The endgame eventually ends in a repetition. Komodo leads by +5 =78 -1.

Game 85 - Sicilian Richter-Rauzer worth a watch.
GAME 85
A Sicilan Richter-Rauzer quickly turns interesting when Houdini plays 18. Bxh6. However, Komodo's defence is rock solid and the evaluations drop to around equal. The next interesting moment comes when Houdini plays 44. b4, giving up a piece for three pawns. This livens up the endgame a bit, but once the queens are exchanged, another draw is imminent. Komodo leads by +5 =79 -1.

Game 86 - an action packed draw.
GAME 86
Houdini gives up a pawn to acquire the bishop pair. Then things become even more interesting when Houdini gives up a bishop to create two connected passed pawns on the g and h files. It transpires that Komodo has to give back all material, after which the resulting endgame looks dead drawn. Komodo leads by +5 =80 -1.

Game 87 - Komodo's central control ensures easy equality.
GAME 87
Houdini gains control along the semi-open c-file, but Komodo's control f the centre easily compensates. After the queens come, the resulting position looks even more drawish and that's indeed how things turn out. Komodo leads by +5 =81 -1.

Game 88 - follows a similar theme to the previous game.
GAME 88
The return encounter follows a similar theme, with Komodo looking for play on the queenside, with Houdini countering in the centre. The end result is the same too - another draw. Komodo leads by +5 =82 -1.
