Keep on dreaming Frank ... you probably does not mean this seriously. Please explain if you have the slightest prove of such a strange statement.

Hi Robert,

Houdini 1.0 and one of the older IvanHoes is the same. Do you remember on the comments by the programmer from Thinker.

A very clear message for myself.
If I compare analyzes by Ivanhoe and the very first Houdini all is absolutely clear for myself too.

Point 1 is right:
But I don't have the actual Komodo and don't have the latest version of Thinker.

You really are very badly informed. See for example your other thread about the GPL stuff, it's really amazing.

As for your last remark, the funny thing is that you don't have the latest versions of Houdini either. Yet you feel fully qualified to make a claim about the relative strengths of these 3 engines...
Are you running a rating list or a Komodo/Thinker fan club?

it seems you are not welcome. Perhaps from your fan boys only.

Shortly information for yourself.

I believe that two other engines are stronger as Houdini. Thinker and Komodo. Why ChessAssistant don't have this information? I will write Monday a short mail to Sergei and Victor.

You are using GPL sources for Houdini after all information I can read.
Will be your own sources available soon?

Many users await it after the messages the Thinker programmer and others has written in the last year.

Do you have contacts to Norman, the person where created the sources you are using. Which opinion have Norman to Houdini?

And why you have written, all is from myself.
What is your problem Robert?

Frank
I WISH we could move on with actual computer chess, and the actual chess in it, instead of all things which are distracting as well as detracting from all positive creativity.
All these arguments are probably robbing computerchess of a few elo each time!

So by this statement, Houdini contains _zero_ code of RobboLitto? As it is distributed with a Public Domain license, it is a license never the less.

"License: PUBLICDOMAIN (workers), all contents"

Thank you for confirming that Houdini doesn't have any RobboLitto code in it.

I don't have the latest version of Houdini either, but in playing the latest version on ICC many times over the past 10 days or so, I can make a relative estimation that 2.0 is not _that_ much stronger than 1.5a which I use on my account.

With inferior hardware (Q6600,8gig ram) compared to the i7 machines on there, 1.5a does a fairly good job.

In using Komodo (single thread) for roughly 500 games and using Houdini for roughly 500 games, the elo difference was very small.

I as well don't have the latest Thinker, but I am sure if I asked for it from the author, I would probably be able to obtain it.

Maybe I should and do a test between the latest versions to post some relative numbers.

Thinker has entered the painful path,at least for us computer chess freaks, that was picked by Fruit and is forever prisoned in the private section on the computer chess world....
