Great video. Magnus's skills are really interesting. I can remember thousand games too but blindfold simultaneous chess against 10 opponents. This is incredible. I hope he will win.

My analyze for this position; 7K/2p5/4p3/2p2kPP/8/4P3/2b5/4n3 w - - 0 1

Code: Select all

 g6 Bb3 g7 e5 h6!

Stockfish 270913 64 SSE4.2 - Doe,J, Blitz 3m
[d]7K/2p5/4p3/2p2kPP/8/4P3/2b5/4n3 w - - 0 1

Analysis by Stockfish 270913 64 SSE4.2:

1.g6 e5 2.g7 Bb3 3.h6 Nc2 4.h7 Nxe3 5.g8Q Bxg8 6.hxg8Q Ke4 7.Qh7+ Kd4 8.Qh4+ Kd3
+- (6.25 ++) Depth: 38/79 00:01:53 1389mN
(Doe, 05.11.2013)

I am actually surprised that Magnus had problems with this position as it seems simply pushing the pawns wins so not really much calculation is needed and all white has to calculate is to see if black can stop the pawns and it can't. Once a queen is on the board the knight is no match for the queen.

Sometimes when we look at a situation we start thinking for a complex solution but it's right there in front of us. "If you want to hide something,hide it in plain sight"
