thanks for the tips -- wasn't aware of the performance hit, but i am very aware of the large pages issue/s. i may disable score main move as i can't say i notice any more frequent updates than with R3.

positions, many years ago: engine, processor, gui, hash tables, tablebases, etc..
Today is different, few are concerned with these details. Why?

Not really. Suppose I tell you engine X solves your position in 1 second, and I paste the info and nothing else.
