I think that you believe too much what you see in the screen.
chessbase interface is not designed to replace names of non uci engines
so if you simply replace Junior9.1 engine by a different Junior engine the interface will not know that the engine is different and report that Junior9.1 is being used.

Did you ever consider the possibility that it is due to a typo in names?
The .ENG file loaded by the Chessbase GUI is displaying 9.1. The actual "brains" of the engine is an associated .DLL file which is definitely work after Junior 10.1.
