Yes
i know it is a great shock to you and even to me!
:P

but it was easy
as soon as you remove the back cover of the board the display unit and connecting ribbon cable are exposed..so there is no need to dig deep into the computer and remove other components like the mother board etc..

i consider the Ren board as the most beautiful board in my collection only under the Prestige and so i was motivated to try something desperate!

also ...the Ren board is backward compatible with all previously released OSA modules and so this means that all of my Maestro modules and my Brute Force module would have no display screen information if the screen remained broken on my Ren board
now that the screen is back to normal operation i can see all of the display information on my 4 Maestro modules and BF Module again

so you can see my motivation to try to fix it was extraordinary

Lucked Out For Once Regards
Steve

and let me tell you Robert
it was very dangerous!

all the time i was trying to repair it i was crying and the tears were dropping into the hot Solder causing smoke

for the the Ren board i was forced to risk even my very life!

thanks for the suggestion
as you can see from this thread i was able to stumble and bumble my way to a repair!

the lcd unit is attached by a ribbon cable to the mother board
when i opened up the Renaissance i noticed that the cable was a bit loose from the board in one spot

a very quick soldering job and... Walla

i am
GOOD TO GO Regards

Steve
