Nemorino 4

Post by Florentino » Thu Dec 21, 2017 5:03 pm

I just released Nemorino 4.
This version has improved king safety evaluation terms and is about 50 Elo stronger in self-play than Nemorino 3.

Thanks Christian.

One thing seems odd to me. Running it from the command line and typing uci I get a 33 ms initialization time and upon go depth 15 the lines fill the rows very slowly.
Checked v3.00 and there the ini time was 14 ms while lines were filled normally.

I hope that is normal but I fear it is not.

Hello Gabor,
did you set the number of threads to 1 (setoption name Threads value 1)? I changed the default (but didn't update the documentation, sorry).

Thanks Guenther.
King safety is of course one of the key aspects.

Well I didn't but setting it to 1 hasn't helped much. Under Arena, however, it seems to work all right so maybe there is no problem.

BTW, how do you set parameters in xboard mode? THe readme says Nemorino is a UCI engine but I can see xboard command in the file and it seems to work as xboard as well.
