New DiscoCheck is cooking

Post by lucasart » Sun Jun 04, 2017 12:16 am

Rewritten completely, with SMP and Chess960:

source code: https://github.com/lucasart/demolito.git
binaries: http://open-chess.org/viewtopic.php?f=7 ... =10#p23457

Linux: 64-bit compiles provided, for various Intel & AMD architectures.

Android: 64-bit ARM compile provided.

MacOSX: Third parties should be able to compile it easily, the same was as I do it on Linux (see make.sh).

Windows: Is on the to do list, but not a priority for the moment. I don't recommend third parties try to make Windows compile, because they'll butcher it for sure (it's not trivial, there's some code redesign involved).
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

Can you pm me how you compiled it, and what errors you got ?

Well, would these websites be a help position to compile Demolito source code for Windows systems?

https://sourceforge.net/projects/pthreads4w/

https://www.sourceware.org/pthreads-win32/

https://locklessinc.com/articles/pthreads_on_windows/

Best wishes,
Norbert

Don't worry. I'll make a Windows compile soon.

The first priority is to beat DiscoCheck 5.2.1. Demolito is still lagging by 15 elo in my testing. DiscoCheck is still a tough nut to crack…

Finally Windows compiles:
http://open-chess.org/viewtopic.php?f=7 ... 486#p23486

Linux and Android are also provided (in the same link).

MacOSX users should be able to compile themselves, same was as it is done on Linux, as shown in 'make.sh'.
