I had a similar issue after setting the parameter values (all versions, including 32 bit), but after restarting the GUI and engine, it ran OK for me.

with ChessGui ?
I have trouble to launch any engine with ChessGui 0.245m, so it is difficult for me to understand what is wrong among Amoeba, ChessGui or myself?
I tested Amoeba 2.2 under Arena 3.0 and it worked.

I haven't used ChessGui for a long time but I remember (and there sure must be search results for this problem in Talkchess) that I had sometimes the problem in Windows,
that it won't work at all until I found out via a Taskmanager rightclick option that sth in Windows blocked that process.

No problems with any previous version of Amoeba under ChessGUI.
I've switched back to Amoeba 2.1 in the meantime.

Hi Graham,
I have started a testmatch with Amoeba 2.2 and Amoeba 2.1 under Arena.
I configured both with 256MB hash.
However, Amoeba starts with 208MB and later Arena shows only 147MB hash here for Amoeba 2.1.
With the same conditions Amoeba 2.2 show 339MB hash.

So I will only test Amoeba 2.2 here.
Werner
