Cheese 1.7

Post by Patrice Duhamel » Sat Apr 04, 2015 9:09 am

I released Cheese version 1.7 :

http://cheesechess.free.fr/en/download.html

Changes :

- Fix problem with check evasion in quiescence search
- Fix problems in multi pv
- Fix problem in iterative deepening
- Changed futility pruning margins
- Add razoring
- Use 4 buckets in main hashtable
- Add a KPK endgame table
- Changed root moves ordering
- Removed mate threat extension
- Add a pawn hashtable (2 Mb)
- now PSQT are not incremental
- Add UCI_Strenght option
- Increase Lazy evaluation margin
- Optimizations

- Release Android (armv7) version

The strength option range is 1000...2600 but I don't know how to tune the parameters, the ELO value does not correspond exactly to computer chess rating or human rating.

I tried to add Chess960 support but there is something wrong, I need more time to finish it.

If you get it working, I'd be very happy to run it for the CCRL chess960 list.

You're welcome :)

700 additional games actually running, will be finished this evening.

It seems that rating will rise a bit as performance in these 700 games is above 2500 at the moment. Let's wait and see... :D

Ok, things were going well for the first two games. I was watching it play against Mephisto Gideon in the Fritz 14 GUI. They each won 1 game. Then on the third game, Cheese had white and on the first move it played Bg5 which is obviously illegal..
