I released a Mac OS X version, thanks to Julien Marcel for his advices on Mac compilation.

It was compiled on a Mac Mini with OS X 10.5.8, using clang 4.2.1,
but I need someone to confirm it works on another Mac computer.

No I don't really have a fondness for cheese, I choose this name because in France we are more known for our cheeses than our chess players. :D

Your engines run well on my Mac with OSX 10.9. The pop version is about 5% faster here. Maybe with macports gcc 4.7 or 4.8 you could speed up both compiles a bit.

Thanks for testing.

I tried to install a more recent version of gcc using macports, but it was not able to install it, I don't remember the error message.

I released a new version, Cheese 1.6.1 :

http://cheesechess.free.fr/en/download.html

Changes :

- Fixed problem in pondering on Linux / Mac OS X, now use unbuffered stdin
- Fixed problems when pondering was canceled
- Fixed "level" command for Xboard, now use floats for increment
- Fixed : uci command "info depth" was sent in Xboard mode

This version only fix few problems with pondering on Linux / Mac OS X, and with Xboard protocol.
It doesn't change the strength of the engine.

Thanks for the update, Patrice. It seems the fixes are important for me as I run Cheese both in UCI and WB mode.
