Post by Hugo » Tue Apr 08, 2014 7:25 am

Hi All

I started the Final Tournament from the "Lord" series.
Top 6 of 12core tour play the final.
conditions:
- round robin tour, 10 rds / 150 games
- 90min +30sec, ponder OFF
- engine use 24 cpu, no LP, no HT
- 5 mvs book
- no tablebases
- 8GB hashtables

crosstable can be found here:
http://www.clemens-keck.de/Lords_of_Madness.html

livegames (update 20sec, maybe has to be improved, lets see) here:
http://www.clemens-keck.de/screen/

I hope all works fine, as it will take a while ( 25days?)

Hi Clemens, you can auto hide your taskbar under chessboard with right mouse click on it..and you win 1cm screen

May be you can make board a little bigger with "hide move buttons" and "hide top icons" and "auto hide your taskbar" like Jean-Paul suggested ?
I'd like to have more fast refresh but if that cause some issues with your web traffic, solution is difficult to find. May be smaller screen resolution ?
Thanks !

Thank you,
but I want that the taskmanager-load can be seen, and I want that the actually time can be seen. So observers can quick check if game is live or "hanging".

best regards, Clemens Keck

Clemens, is it possible to
1) hide move buttons just under the board ?
2) hide icons at the top of the windows ?

Thanks !

I have fear to touch there anything during a running game.
Last 2 times I did this, the engines stoped to think! I had to restart the game :-(
But of course I will try to make this kind of view. I just have to be there when a new games starts. Lets see whats possible with the gui. I want change layout too ;)

regards, Clemens

btw. some engines scale awesome on that 24 cores, some others use not 100% . And Rybka is horrible slow...

Nice to know :D
About Rybka, it have the characteristic to be an engine designed to scale down the nodes count when running on multi-threads. Vasik tried to count "usefull nodes" because when one rise the number of threads, the tree search is not very efficient. The numbers Rybka display is not real. Rybka is not worse than others ! :-)

cycle 1 of 10 is played

Stockfish, Houdini und Komodo scale great on the machine.
Rybkashows low kNs, but 100% load
Critter and Hannibal only reach 60 - 80% cpu load.
