Napoleon 1.4.0

Post by crybotmark » Sat Mar 22, 2014 11:34 pm

Hello,

The new release of Napoleon (1.4.0) is available for download from the github repository: https://github.com/crybot/Napoleon

Hopefully it would be something around 100-150 elo stronger than the older version (1.3.2), but tests are still runnig.
The main changes are a new evaluation function written from scratch (still very basic, but less buggy) and some code optimization/refactoring.
More details are available on the commit descrition.

Feel free to test it out.
Best Regards,

M.P.

Hi Marco,

could you please name some engines that you believe Napoleon is roughly equal with in strength?
Have you got a direct download link for the exe files?

Thanks,
Graham.

I would say Soldat or Protej, but I'm not sure. I'm basing on the g-6 rating list: http://www.g-sei.org/classifica/

The direct link to the downloads are:

Windows x64:
https://github.com/crybot/Napoleon/raw/ ... poleon.exe

Windows x86
https://github.com/crybot/Napoleon/raw/ ... poleon.exe

I actually updated the repo once again.
I tried some configuration of razoring, which I previously implemented as limited razoring (i.e. only reduce at depth=3), giving me some nice gain.
